Meet the Breeders
Dana McMahan and Maeva Chafin have been dog training partners since 2017. Both have a passion for working and training dogs so it came natural that they decided to join forces on this venture together. The goal behind Oak Canyon Golden Retrievers is to provide stable, healthy Golden Retrievers with solid foundation training as service dog and companion prospects. Together we have selected the best breeding stock and start our puppies off from Day One with early neurological stimulation and continue socializing and training them from the day they open their eyes. We strive to produce the most well-rounded Golden Retriever specimens for the discerning owner.
OUR FACILITY
About Our Facility
All of our litters are whelped in our home, with the constant socialization of my two young children. Puppies are given the best of the best with regards to early socialization and exposure to ensure they reach their maximum potential as companions or future service dog prospects. We hold back 1-2 puppies from each litter to enter our Super Puppy Program. These puppies will then go to our 5-acre Training Ranch located in the heart of the Cleveland National Forest. Here the puppies go on daily hikes, socialize with other dogs, are taken to off property field trips like to the Harbor or shopping centers. Every Puppy in our Super Puppy Program is crate trained and house broken, taught basic puppy manners like not to jump or play bite, and taught formal obedience like sit, down, come, stay, walk on leash, and place.
